How Great Thou Art!

I cannot explain how I feel,

I cannot explain this cycle of pain,

Nor the cycle of rededication.

But my soul still sings,

"How Great Thou Art!"

The pains are becoming unbearable,

And few tears have escaped.

Questions fill my mind,

But my spirit silences them with a scream,

"How Great Thou Art!"

I cannot question You,

But I do have questions.

It's screaming in my mind,

But cannot be expressed.

The only sentence I can resonate with is,

"How Great Thou Art!"

That's because You are forever God,

Nothing changes that.

You bring everything to its appointed place in its season.

I know that everything works together for good,

To those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.

So I will declare with my mouth,

"How Great Thou Art!"

When fear engulfs me,

And my thoughts wander to the worst-case scenarios,

When everything seems to be against me,

I can but only say,

"How Great Thou Art!"

I trust You because You are Almighty!

You are Great in all Your ways!
